– CIC Energy Corp. (“CIC Energy” or the “Company”) (TSX:ELC, BSE: CIC Energy) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mendi Msimang to the Company’s board of directors, effective immediately.
Mr. Msimang has held senior positions in the government of
South Africa
and the African National Congress (“ANC”), the ruling party of
South Africa
since Democracy in 1994. He served as
South Africa
’s first High Commissioner to the
United Kingdom
(1995-1998) and as a member of
South Africa
’s first parliament where he was elected Chair of the caucus of the ANC.
Mr. Msimang served on the National Executive Committee of the ANC since 1991 and from 1997 to 2008 he served as Treasurer-General of the ANC. Mr. Msimang holds
South Africa
’s award for Meritorious Service (Class Silver).

Mr. Msimang was training to be a lawyer at the law firm of Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo when he went into exile in 1960, joining Oliver Tambo in

to run the office of the ANC. Mr. Msimang returned to
South Africa
from exile in 1991.
Mr. Msimang is currently Chairman of Circle Capital Developments (Pty) Ltd, a private company in
South Africa
.
