CIC Energy Corp. is developing the Mmamabula Energy Complex in Botswana, Africa. This planned Complex consists of the Mmamabula Energy Project (MEP), the Coal-to-Hydrocarbons Project and the Export Coal Project. MEP is a planned greenfield power station and integrated coal mine. Southern Africa is projected to require significant new baseload power generation capacity over the next several years.
International Power plc, a leading independent power producer listed on the London Stock Exchange is a 50% partner in the MEP. Phase One of MEP is planned as a 2,100 to 2,500 MW power plant with an integrated 7.5 to 9.0 Mt per annum coal mine expected to be in commercial operation in 2012.
CIC Energy has a strong treasury of over C$100 million has been listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (ELC:TSX) and on the Botswana Stock Exchange (CIC Energy:BSE) since 2006. CIC Energy is a Tau Capital Group Company.
